The People and atmosphere were nice. Teachers and DJs were well chosen. Hotel was okay. But the Balance was miserable. Followers were frustrated. Leaders seemed to be tired/attacked. Workshops were all open level, never mentioned the topic or style and level at the schedule. A lot basics were needed each time. Frustrated students. Teachers did their best!
There was no gender balance, way too many women! Too hot at the day social! Pool party was more for chilling than for dancing... Not fun to interrupt the social for 2 hours because of the pool party!
In the socials I sometimes counted more than 30 women waiting for dances, and that was in the smaller room - probably many more in the big room. It may be illegal to "discriminate" by gender when selling festival passes, but surely, making sure there are not many more follower passes sold than leader passes isn't. There were some female leaders there, but even then, the balance was really bad, one of the worst I have experienced in a festival. Another sticking point for me was the quality of the hotel facilities - everything seemed to be broken and needing repair: toilets, all the tables were wobbly, including the tall round one in our room which resulted in a perfume bottle breaking when it rolled onto the floor. It was almost impossible to open the closet door to get to the fridge as it had no handle. The wardrobe door was extremely hard to close, like it was sticking and needed some oil. We told the lobby staff about this twice and they promised it would be repaired but it wasn'
Das Hotel war okay, aber mehr auch nicht. Es gibt viel bessere Hotels mit Vollverpflegung und besseres Konditionen. Die Balance auf der Veranstaltung war eine Katastrophe. Es waren viel zu viele Frauen dort und das Niveau war überhaupt nicht ausgewogen. Es war das schlechteste Festival auf dem ich je war.
